At Gustav Mahler’s Music and Art School students can attend subjects in one of the three sections:
(the music section, the dance section and the art section), according to a fixed study plan.
Each candidate has to pass a talent test, which is registered and archived in the school.
Talent tests of the music section:

Singing a song chosen by the candidate,

Intonation tuning – singing given sounds conducted by a piano,

Repeating rhythms by clapping the hands,
Chosing the students for a preparatory of music theory (preschool pupils, basic school students)……and their revising? – tady mi ta věta nějak nedávala smysl ani v češtině tak prosím o upřesnění?
These exams take place at the beginning of May and are practiced by a headmaster-designated committee of three members. The school has a right to chose the best students regarding to a capacity of each section. Older students, who have to pass the same tests, can apply during the whole school year.

Length of the studies in the music section:
Preparatory for music - 1-2 years (group lessons for the youngest students)
1st degree - 1st - 7th year (singing, piano, string instruments, guitar, accordion, flutes)
1st - 4th year (keyboard, organ, wind instruments, battery)
2nd degree - 1st – 4th year (all members of the music section, 1st degree)
Studies for adults – (max. 26 years old) – 3 years
5 years of group lessons of the music theory are compulsory since 1st year of the studies.
School fees per month
Preparatory for the music - 180 CZK (45 min/week)
Personal studies:

250 CZK (45 min/week)

280 CZK (70 min/week) – extended lessons for talented students, preparations for exams.

310 CZK (1 “double” lesson/week) main and side subject, e.g. piano+organ

Studies for adults: school fees in the full amount of the costs of 1 student, students of other schools: fees as a usual student

Group lessons: (max. 2-4 students per lesson) – 210 CZK (45 min/week), max. 2 students per lessons of singing, guitar, flute – 230 CZK (70 min/week)
Associated subjects: payment of chamber music, chorus singing, string and wind instruments is included in studying the main subject.
Students attending the main and side subject pay 70 CZK/month.
If the school is able to borrow an instrument, no fees are required.
