The art section was founded in 1961. There was just one good-sized group consisting of students of different ages. Since 1994 the section was extended of the second degree and courses for adults.
The facility equipment is also higher than standard. That is why we are so successful in such conditions.
All children have contributed to the general look of our section and of the whole school.
The art section is attended by approximately 120 – 130 students at the age from 6 to 19 years. There is also a course for adults.
Every year there is on average 5 – 8 students who want to pass talent exams for special schools or universities. (For example schools focused on architecture, design, graphic art, advertisement, pedagogical faculties and specialized art schools).
They have been successful in nearly 100%!
More than 80 of our graduates continued studying at a school focused on art.
Since 1994 we have got 220 awards in the national or international competitions, like: SHANKAR'S INTERNATIONAL CILDREN'S COMPETITION in India, KANAGAWA in Japan, LIDICE, competitions in Slovenia, Republic of South Africa, United Arab Emirates, Poland, Germany, Slovakia…..
Local gallery:
Every year we present our work in a local gallery, occasionally we have expositions elsewhere.
Muzeum venkova Vysočiny: (“Museum of highland’s countryside”)
In spring 2007 our permanent exposition was set in this museum in Žirovnice. We made almost 800 ceramic products and arranged them into a fantastical Bethlehem (11 x 16m), which illustrates human life from birth to death. It is a unique Czech piece made by more than 200 students aged from 6 to 80 years.
PEKLO (“The Hell”)
At the beginning of winter 2007, a new project was setup in Humpolec. An exposition of clay figures from local underworld was placed in an underground gallery. The figures are connected with legends of gold mining and silver mining near Orlík castle.
