Welcome to web sites of Gustav Mahler’s Music and Art School in Humpolec!

budova-web.jpgYou have just opened the web sites of Gustav Mahler’s Music and Art School, whose tradition has taken more than 60 years. It was founded in 1946 on the initiative of the Čech and Lech Chorus. Since the foundation, the school has become an integral part of the cultural events of Humpolec and its surroundings. The individual sections have got extended and the number of students has started rising. In 1996 the school was granted the name ´Gustav Mahler’s Music and Art School´ thanks to its success in education of art and music. (The composer Gustav Mahler is a native of Kaliště, a village near Humpolec). The foundation of the school belongs to the municipality of Humpolec. The cooperation works perfectly now, because the management of the town consists of people who realize that music reinforces both the personality and the spirit. Furthermore, the school influences a cultural life of the town considerably.
